TriGuy Multisport Coaching is recruiting and looking for qualified applicants with a passion and/or interest for personal training, coaching, endurance sports, sports development and helping people achieve their goals. The Intern Program is an un-paid internship working TriGuy Multisport Coaching. Individuals who successfully complete the program gain valuable work related experience in the health and fitness industry and have opportunity to be hired on as a full time expert level coach.

During the Internship, our Interns learn the coaching methodology of TriGuy Coaching and apply these methods while working directly with coached athletes. Continuing education, mentoring, and supervision is provided throughout the program. We strive to maintain a professional, challenging, high-paced, cooperative and fun working environment at all times. The curriculum focuses on topics pertaining to the practical application of the science behind improving fitness, health, and athletic performance. Resident Coaches are required to attend and participate in presentations by the Senior and Premier staff, round table discussions, research projects, Webinars and Training Camps.

The candidate must be willing to use our chosen online training software to coach athletes. The candidate must demonstrate personal qualities that increase the probability of success, such as being personable, reputable, self-motivated, highly organized and dedicated to providing the highest possible quality of service. The most important quality for the candidate is being skilled in working with people. He/she must demonstrate athletic competency for the sport in which he/she coaches. Also he/she is expected to contribute to the betterment of his/her sport annually through volunteer services to the national federation, local club or sport community in general.

What You Will Learn:

– Exercise Physiology for endurance athletes
– Sports nutrition for endurance athletes
– Real-time application of nutrition theory

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

– Coordinate athletes and coaches
– Collaborate with the Head Coach
Help coaches develop and execute training programs
– Organize training guides for athletes and staff
– Establish Standards for coached athletes
– Implement and maintain social media marketing
– Create flyers, posters and brochures
Advertising and marketing support
– Promoting and delivering event specific training programs, online and in-club
– Promote & facilitate triathlon information sessions, triathlon clinics, and seminars
– Responsible for building relationships with the area triathlon community
– Deliver one on one and/or small group training programs
– Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of triathlon training techniques and concepts
– Deliver the best triathlon training experience possible for athletes
– Assist in the promotion and execution of certain events
– Update information on website (small updates, no HTML knowledge needed, but beneficial)
– Great use of Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and Google Docs


– Provide references to demonstrate interest and knowledge
– Possess skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
– Organized and flexible with the ability to multi-task and learn quickly
– Excellent time management and organizational skills
– Very attentive to details, including written and physical details
– Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, potential injuries, and the ability to handle emergencies
– Customer-focused, pleasant, and able to speak knowledgeably and clearly with athletes

Preferred Qualifications:

– High School graduate
– CPR & First Aid training required
– Flexible schedule. Weekend availability a plus
– Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
– Familiar with triathlon training and the triathlon industry preferred
– Ability to speak conversational English is required
– Ability to operate a computer and office software
– Advanced knowledge of fitness, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and program design
– Enrolled in an accredited four-year degree in kinesiology, exercise science, exercise physiology, sports medicine, or another related field

Additional Details:

– This is a un-paid position
– Weekends and travel may be required
– Interns are expected to work 10-20 hours per week and participate in training sessions as scheduled
– Must be available working April through early September
